Getting started

PlayKaraoke Player is a karaoke player that runs in your browser — no install. It plays CDG (.zip with .cdg + audio) and MP4 karaoke files, and can also play karaoke videos from YouTube.

  1. Open the player in Chrome or Edge (recommended; the Library needs them).
  2. Drag your karaoke files onto the window — or click the empty stage to choose them.
  3. Press Play. That's it.
Your files are read from your computer and never uploaded. Queue, singers and settings are saved in this browser only.

Top barSearch (Devices / YouTube), the Second Screen, Autoplay, Applause and Ambient toggles, Settings, and Start Show Mode / End Show.
Left columnThe drop strip (“Drag karaoke files here”) and the queue — or, in Show Mode, the singer rotation.
PreviewA small copy of what the audience sees. It grows or shrinks with your screen.
Song info & controlsCode, artist, song and format; the progress bar; Play, Restart, Stop and Next; Volume; Pitch.
PadsSix one-tap sound effects (applause, laughter…).

Adding music

Song info (code, artist, title) comes from the file name: Code - Artist - Title, e.g. SC8123-05 - Adele - Hello.zip.

Click a song in the queue to set its pitch in advance or play it now. Reorder with the arrows or by dragging; remove with ×. A song leaves the queue when it ends, and the next one is loaded and paused — it only starts by itself if Autoplay is on.

Playing a song

Play / PauseStarts or pauses the song.
Restart ↺Goes back to the beginning and plays — for when the singer wasn't ready.
StopStops and clears the player. Safe to use if anything gets stuck.
NextPlays the next song. In Show Mode it ends the current performance (after a confirmation) and moves to the next singer.
VolumeMain volume of songs and videos.
Pitch − / +Changes the key in semitones (±12) without changing the speed. Reset goes back to the original key. Not available for YouTube songs.

Autoplay starts the next song after a countdown. Applause plays automatically at the end of each song. Ambient plays background music between songs. Turn them on or off with the toggles in the top bar.

Second screen

  1. Click Second Screen. A new window opens (allow pop-ups if asked).
  2. Drag it to the TV or projector and make it fullscreen (hover for the button, or F11).

While it's open, the second screen becomes the main player for video: YouTube plays (with sound) only there, and MP4 video is shown only there — the operator screen keeps the controls. This saves a lot of processing. Closing it hands playback back at the same point.

Using a key-change browser extension with YouTube songs? Apply it on the second screen window — that's where the sound comes from.

Show Mode

For karaoke nights with many singers. The queue becomes a rotation of singers, each with up to 5 songs; when a performance ends, the turn moves to the next singer.

Starting and adding songs

Click Start Show Mode. Add music as usual — you'll be asked “Who is this song for?”: type to find a singer, or type a new name and press Enter to create them. Singers join the rotation in the order they're added; drag to reorder.

During the show

Ending the show

Click End Show to see the report — duration, songs, singers and the highlight of the night — and Export CSV. Start new show clears everything.

Library (your drives)

Search a large collection — even an external drive with hundreds of thousands of files — without opening folders. Chrome, Edge or Opera.

  1. Go to Settings › Library › Connect folder and choose the folder (subfolders are included).
  2. The first scan reads only file names and runs in the background; very large drives take a few minutes. You can Cancel and try later.
  3. Search from the top bar with Devices. Search ignores accents and word order: avioes finds Aviões.

The index is remembered, so opening the player doesn't rescan the drive. Click ↻ on a folder after adding or removing files. If the browser asks for permission again, click Reconnect.

YouTube

Select YouTube in the search bar, type and press Enter. Click + to add a video. YouTube songs work in the queue, Show Mode and the second screen, and survive a page reload.

Pads

Six buttons that fire a sound effect over the music. One tap plays the sound from the start (tapping again restarts it); several pads can play together. Load your own MP3s and rename pads in Settings › Pads.

Keyboard shortcuts

Turn them on in Settings › Shortcuts. They're off by default so a bump on the keyboard can't disrupt the show, and never work while typing or with a window open.

Primeiros passos

  1. Abra o player no Chrome ou no Edge (recomendados; a Biblioteca precisa deles).

A tela principal

Barra do topoBusca (Dispositivos / YouTube), os botões de Segunda tela, Autoplay, Aplausos e Ambiente, Configurações, e Iniciar Modo Show / Encerrar show.

PararPara e limpa o player. Pode usar sempre que algo travar.
PróximaToca a próxima música.

Modo Show

Clique em Iniciar Modo Show.

Durante o show

Encerrar o show

Novo show limpa tudo.

  1. Vá em Configurações › Biblioteca › Conectar pasta e escolha a pasta (as subpastas entram junto).
